Final Wiffleball Tourney Set
May 28 CLOQUET — It’s time for another day of skinny yellow bats, plastic whistling balls, burgers and fun — oh yeah, and the always-exciting Memorial Day Wiffleball Tournament. Wiffle Hall of Famer Tyler Korby will again be hosting the tremendously-popular event for the sixth and final time during the holiday on Monday, May 31.
Former Cloquet Athlete Sautebine Excels At BSU

Apr 19 Former Cloquet star athlete Taylor Sautbine was impressive at a recent track meet held at UMD. Sautbine, a freshman at Bemidji State University, won the hurdles while also finishing strong in the 200 meter dash and helping a Beaver relay team to a second place finish. Read more

Nov 2 The University of Wisconsin-Superior athletic department and head coach Don Mulhern are excited to announce that the women’s basketball team will open the 2010-2011 season with an exhibition game against the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Aug 14 After receiving numerous awards during the playing season, Megan Johnson a sophomore on the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College softball team, was named Academic All-American for the National Junior College Athletic Association this past week. Read more
UWS Softball Announces Incoming Class

July 23 Head Coach Roger Plachta of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets softball team announced Tuesday his upcoming recruiting class for 2011. He announced six players joining his team next season including four incoming freshman and one transfer. Plachta also announced his captains for next season as well. Read more

June 21 DULUTH - Last weekend marked the 34th running of Grandma's Marathon in Duluth. It also was the 20th Annual Garry Bjorklund Half-Marathon as well as the 17th Annual William Irvin 5-K Run/Walk. Read more
Team Scholastica Wins Wiffleball Tournament
June 1 CLOQUET - Monday marked the 6th Annual Memorial Day Wiffle Ball Tournament in Cloquet. The tournament, held annually at Peterson Park, drew a record 34 teams with nearly 400 fans and players in attendance throughout the day. Read more
Hunter Highlights Cloquet Athletic Banquet
May 23 Sunday night was the first time in 31 years that former Cloquet star athlete Debbie Hunter had stepped back in a Lumberjack gym. Hunter, the guest speaker for the Cloquet athletic banquet, was welcomed back with a standing ovation. The banquet is held annually to honor those athletes who have received a letter for playing sports at CHS. Read more |
