In the case of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College President Larry Anderson that something else is different than just about any college President you'll ever find. Anderson, who is 59 years old, is one of the top power lifters at his age group in the county.

  SAGINAW - The AlBrook Falcons are flying high in the early part of the boys' baseball season. They rolled past the Giants of Mesabi East 16-2 in five innings in Saginaw on Tuesday.

  Recently the 7th and 8th graders at AlBrook added “Thursday Math,” and an extra hour a week of math review. Students who scored higher than 655 or 755 on their MCA math tests last year did not need to have this extra math time.

  Fans of the AlBrook/Cotton football team will have a whole new era ushered in as Dan DuPay takes over the reins as head coach after the retirement of longtime Falcon coach Larry Anderson. DuPay, who played high school football at Hermantown, also played college football at Valley City State University in North Dakota.

  BURNETT - It may have taken thirty-one years, but the Brookston Wildcats are once again St. Louis County Little League Champions with a 7-5 win over rival Burnett at the Burnett Field on 18 July. Not since 1979 with last names like Peterson, Melin, and Olson has a team from Brookston won the Little League Crown.

  SAGINAW - It has been said that good hitting and pitching wins baseball games. Judging by their 15-1 record, the AlBrook Falcons appear to have plenty of both this season. The Falcons continued their winning ways at home on Tuesday by beating the Silver Bay Mariners 11-3 on Tuesday.

  BARNUM- The Barnum Bombers boy’s baseball team was still seeking its first win on the season when they took on AlBrook Monday afternoon. It was another struggle for the Bombers, who fell to the Falcons 18-4 in this non-conference match up.
