ML-WR Opens Baseball Playoffs In A Big Way

June 2 The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels were seeking to exact some revenge on Esko after last season’s playoff victory. ML-WR had defeated Esko in the regular season last year, however, the Eskomos then beat the Rebels in the 7AA playoffs. This year, in the regular season, it was a late rally in a game in Esko that propelled the Eskomos to the early season win. However, on Wednesday afternoon it was the Rebels who pounded out 14 hits on their way to a 17-1 win at home. Read more
Rebel Girls Win Third Straight
Apr 26 WILLOW RIVER- The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels girls softball team won their third straight game Monday afternoon when they took the Rush City Tigers by a score of 10-0 in six innings. Read more
Youngberg 1-Hits Floodwood In 13-1 Win

Apr 20 Katie Youngberg has orally committed to play softball for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder next season. On Tuesday night the senior pitcher from Moose Lake-Willow River showed why she had college scouts drooling as she tossed a one-hitter with six strike outs in a 13-1 win for the Rebels over Floodwood. ML-WR Football Opens the Season in a Big Way

Sept 2 At times it must have felt like the Mesabi East Giants were in the middle of Hurricane Earl during their Thursday night football game against Moose Lake-Willow River. The Rebels pounded out 10-touchdowns much like the anticipation of Earl on the east coast later today and over the weekend as ML-WR stormed to a 75-0 victory at home in Willow River. Read more
Esko's Megan Johnson Receives First Team Honors

June 23 Megan Johnson of Esko, a sophomore this past season for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women's softball team, was named to the Region 13 First Team recently. Read more
ML-WR's Caroline Commits To UMD
May 28 Sheenagh Caroline of Moose Lake has made a commitment to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth to play volleyball for the nationally ranked Bulldogs. As a junior in high school, Caroline will have one more year of playing for the Rebels of Moose Lake-Willow River before moving on to play at the Division II college level for UMD. Read more
Rebels Golf Teams Off To A Good Start

Apr 21 The Moose Lake-Willow River golf teams are off to a good start this spring sports season. The boys golf team won their opening meet of the season and tied in their second meet of the year. The Lady Rebels also won their first meet of the season and the second meet because there were not enough girls to compete. Read more |
