  The Cromwell Cardinals found themselves trailing the Wrenshall Wrens 25-20 at halftime in a Polar League battle at Cromwell high school Monday and it would be a strong second half led by Jake Ramberg as the Cardinals knock off the Wrens by a final score of 56-48.

  WRENSHALL- The Wrenshall Wrens were hoping to start fast this season, looking at improving from last season’s four win total which included a playoff win, but that got off on the wrong foot as the Wrens fell to one of the Section 7A favorites Cherry Tuesday night at home by a score of 87-20.

  The Wrenshall girls basketball team has been in the process of rebuilding since their state tournament run in 2008. That process took another step forward when the Lady Wrens won their first playoff game since that 2008 season by beating Silver Bay 67-54 on Tuesday night in Wrenshall.

  It had been a long time coming, but it finally happened Friday night as the Wrenshall Wrens picked up their first win of the season and the first win for the Girls Basketball program since January of 2009. The Wrens playing as part of a boys and girls double header in Silver Bay knocked off the Mariners by a final score of 51-34.

  When Adam Bailey played sports at Carlton High School he was a no-nonsense type of guy who made his mark with hard work and effort. Using the same attributes he coached his Bulldog boys basketball team to their first win of the season on Friday night; a 50-38 victory over neighborhood rival Wrenshall in a battle for the little brown jug.

  WRENSHALL- Maria Burcar started the Wrenshall Wrens on the right track Monday night as she exploded from the opening tip, scoring 12 of the game’s first 20 points. Her efforts helped put the Wrens in front as they picked up their second win of the season. The Wrens defeated Fond du Lac 58-25 at home on.
