  CLOQUET, MN – Two Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Football team members signed national Letters of Intent today to attend universities and play football at the NCAA Division I level next season. A total of six Thunder Football student athletes who will graduate from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College this year will continue their collegiate playing careers next season.

  CLOQUET, MN-- With almost three weeks of practice and training camp activities behind them, the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Football team is ready for game action. The team travels to St. Cloud on Saturday, August 27, to open their 2011 season against nationally ranked Central Lakes College. The 8:00 p.m. game is the final clash of the annual Kick-Off Classic that features all of the teams in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. The Thunder game will be held at St. Cloud State University.

  The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women's softball team continues a torrid recruiting pace for the upcoming 2012 season. Head coach Kerry Rodd has added two more players for the upcoming season which brings the total number of freshman to 11.

  The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College football coaching staff has been quite busy lately. The staff has been out across the state putting on football camps locally while also extending that reach into southern Minnesota.

  The largest recruiting class in the history of Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College football will be welcomed in the fall when 54 players hit the field for the Thunder. This year’s class will be a mix of local talent as well as players from across the country.

  A Pair of Thunder softball player received individual post-season honors on Wednesday. Former Duluth Central standout, Lisa Muehlberger, was named to the MCAC All-State 1st Team in softball while her teammate, Hermantown graduate Anna Engelmeier was named MCAC All-State Honorable Mention.

  The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder women's softball team completed a sweep of Mesabi Range Community College on Wednesday afternoon at Braun Park in Cloquet. The Thunder won the opener 12-4 in five innings and then took the nightcap 12-2 also in five innings.

  National signing day arrived earlier this week and announcements of players who have committed to various college institutions also started cropping up and the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women's softball team is no exception. The Thunder announced that two key players from local high schools will attend school next fall to play for FDLTCC.

  Several members of the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Football Team delivered almost $1,000 worth of toys to Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet this week. The team acquired the toys and decided during training camp to donate the items to the hospital where they could be given to children receiving care.
