Katrina Newman's 30 points leads UMD over Bemidji State
 Jan 3, 2012 Usually there are three usual suspects that do the majority of the scoring for the University of Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team. Then, there are nights like this one where everyone took a backseat to one outstanding player. Former Barnum Standout Katrina Newman gashed the Bemidji State defense en-route to a career-high 30 points in a 74-54 UMD victory on Tuesday night.

University of Minnesota Duluth senior running back Zach Hulce and junior quarterback Chase Vogler each ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead the ground-happy Bulldogs to 30-27 overtime victory over Saginaw Valley State University in the opening round of the NCAA II playoffs at Malosky Stadium. Two Newmans Spell Double Trouble For Opponents
