  CLOQUET, MN– The second season of Thunder basketball at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College took a big step forward from the inaugural season last year. Despite posting similar won-loss records in both years, the enthusiasm and level of play on both the men's and women's teams showed marked improvement.

Thunder forward Curtis Houle (Barnum) hit the game-winning three-point shot with 20 seconds to play. The Thunder held off Itasca with a defensive stop and steal in the final seconds to beat them 68-67 at home on Wednesday.

Both the Fond Du Lac men's and women’s basketball teams were in action on Thursday night in Grand Rapids to play Itasca Community College. The men’s team came away with a victory, while the women’s team fell to the Vikings.

  Curtis Houle, sophomore guard for the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder men's basketball team, was named Player of the Week in the Northern Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference for his performance in games played November 16 through November 21, 2009.

  Despite leading 32-29 at halftime and holding the lead until midway through the second half, the Thunder women lost 71-52 to visiting Central Lakes College on Wednesday evening.

  Cloquet – Playing the second game of  the mens/womens doubleheader, the FDLTCC mens basketball team picked up a convincing win at the Lester Briggs cultural center on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder beat St. Cloud Technical College 86-67 for their third win of the season.

The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Athletics programs announced the roster of incoming student-athletes who plan to play for one of the Thunder teams starting with the 2009-2010 seasons. The roster includes numerous local and Minnesota student-athletes, as well as several out-of-state recruits.
