Aug 18 Former Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College women's volleyball coach, Mike Patenaude, has been hired as an assistant volleyball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior and will join the Yellowjackets staff this school year. Read more

June 21 Longtime Northland volleyball club coach Mike Patenaude was recently named the recipient of the 2010 Robert L. Lindsay Meritorious Award. ML-WR's Caroline Commits To UMD
May 28 Sheenagh Caroline of Moose Lake has made a commitment to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth to play volleyball for the nationally ranked Bulldogs. As a junior in high school, Caroline will have one more year of playing for the Rebels of Moose Lake-Willow River before moving on to play at the Division II college level for UMD. Read more

May 24 Northland Volleyball Club’s Juniors teams participated in the “Head of the Lakes” tournament last weekend at various locations throughout the Northland. The Head of the Lakes tournament is hosted by East End Volleyball and is one of the premier junior’s tournaments of the season. Read more
Carlton's Bloom Commits To Northern State University
Apr 27 The Bloom family legacy at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota will continue for at least four more years. Katie Bloom, who will graduate from Carlton High School this spring, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball with the Wolves next season. Read more

Apr 21 Former Fond du Lac Thunder head volleyball coach Mike Patenaude has another season of Junior Olympic Volleyball off to a fantastic start. Patenaude, one of the founders of the Northland Volleyball Club, has been coaching and playing volleyball for over 30 years in the area. Again, he is using his knowledge and experience to guide several teams of several age levels in Junior Olympic Volleyball. Read more

Nov 11 Post season awards keep rolling in for Barnum’s Katrina Newman. On Wednesday night the 16th annual state volleyball and state awards banquet was held at the Crown Plaza in St. Paul, Minnesota. Newman was named to the All-State girls Class A volleyball team. Read more

Nov 9 On Friday, the Barnum Bombers' Katrina Newman was honored for her accomplishments as an outstanding volleyball player in the 2009 season. Newman, a five year player on the team, finished her career with 1137 kills and 668 digs. Read more

Minnesota North 18-1 Volleyball Team To Compete In Reno
June 18 The Minnesota North 18-1 Junior Olympic volleyball team will be competing in the 31st annual USA volleyball girls’ Junior National Championships held in Reno, Nevada from June 29th through July 3rd. Team members include several top local volleyball players. Read more
NVC Volleyball Has Another Banner Weekend
May 19 Northland Volleyball Club hosted the NVC Spring invite at Esko High School this last weekend. Thirty-one teams from all over the Northland participated in 4 different divisions. NVC, who is having their best juniors season on record, dominated the tournament with Gold Division championships in the 18’s, 16’s and 14’s divisions. Read more

Nov 7 GRAND RAPIDS – After turning in what was arguably their best performance of the season, a 3-0 win over Hermantown in the Section 7AA volleyball semi-finals, the Esko Eskomos went into the section finals with high hopes. Nov 3 The Barnum Bombers will be making their first ever appearance in section volleyball semifinals on Thursday night when they face Nevis as part of a double header at Brainerd High School. Oct 28 CARLTON - The Carlton Bulldogs made sure things went as planned in the Section 7A volleyball tournament. The Bulldogs tamed the Lakeview Christian Academy Lions 25-6, 25-15 and 25-8 in second round action and they will move on to the quarter finals on Friday at Hermantown when they take on Babbitt-Embarrass. Oct 23 The Barnum Bombers girls volleyball team coming off an extended break in their volleyball season downed the Bombers from Braham in a tough four game match.
