CLOQUET - The Cloquet 13 year old boys baseball team broke a 2-2 tie in the second inning scoring five times to take a 7-2 lead after two innings. They added four more runs in the fourth inning as they went on to defeat Central by a final score of 11-6 to capture the Minnesota State Little League 13 year old title.

July 28 The Cloquet boys 13 yr olds baseball team remained on a tear Thursday by beating Duluth Central by a score of 14-4 at the Little League state tournament at Braun Park. In the first two days of the tournament, Cloquet has outscored their opponants by a 28-7 margin. Esko rebounded from Wednesday’s loss to beat eastern by a score of 10-9. Read more

June 17 ST. CLOUD – The Proctor Rails baseball team put the wraps on the most successful baseball season in school history on Friday at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud. In the Consolation Semi-Finals the Rails beat St. Anthony Village by a 4-1 margin to advance to the Consolation championship where they lost to Delano by a 5-1 score. Read more

June 7 HIBBING - Even good problems are problems all the same, such is the case of being a fan of Hermantown athletics these days. On Thursday they will need to choose between watching the Hawks softball team play in its fourth consecutive state tournament in Mankato or cheer on the baseball team in the section finals at Wade Stadium. June 1 MOOSE LAKE - One of the most exciting and tightest games in high school playoffs isn’t necessarily the section finals, but rather the #4 vs. #5 seed matchup. This game is usually the most evenly matched game of the first couple of rounds and typically results in a close score. Lumberjacks Take On Fargo Shanley With Wood Bats
May 21 Walking into the Cloquet vs. Fargo Shanley baseball game on Saturday, one could tell things were a bit different; you could hear the crack of the bat rather than a ping. The reason was the game was being played with wood bats rather than Aluminum. In the afternoon matinee game Fargo Shanley defeated the Lumberjacks by a score of 15-3 in five innings. Read more |
