Hermantown Dominates LSC All-Conference Golf Selections

Hermantown Golf Comes Away With Two Big Wins
May 15 The Hermantown Boys Golf team came away with two big wins on the week as the Hawks first won one of the four Lake Superior Conference Meets in Cloquet on Wednesday, and then it was a win at the twenty-four team, thirty-six hole Northern Invitational that was held both at the Quarry and at Giants Ridge in Biwabik on Friday and Saturday. May 2, 2011 Dwight Cadwell-NSO CLOQUET- Hermantown had two teams entered into the 2011 Cloquet High School Invite on Monday and it was an impressive showing as the Hermantown Hawks Blue Team entry captured first place. Lexvold Outlasts Langenbrunner to Win Cloquet Invite
July 11 CLOQUET- Upon entering Sunday's final round of the 79th annual Cloquet Invitational Jamie Langenbrunner had high hopes of defending his title on his home course. However, Brent Lexvold from Apple Valley withstood the four way tie entering Sunday’s final round to prevail and give him his first championship at Cloquet Country Club. Read more
Esko-Carlton Takes Boys And Girls Golf Championships
May 22 The Esko-Carlton boys' and girls' golf teams completed a sweep in the Polar League by winning dual meets to capture both titles. The first of the two meets was held in Cloquet at the Cloquet Country Club and the second was held at Superior National golf course in Lutsen, Minnesota. Read more
Rebels Golf Teams Off To A Good Start
Apr 21 The Moose Lake-Willow River golf teams are off to a good start this spring sports season. The boys golf team won their opening meet of the season and tied in their second meet of the year. The Lady Rebels also won their first meet of the season and the second meet because there were not enough girls to compete. Read more
Sue Northey Back into the Swing of Coaching
Apr 2 Longtime Esko girl’s basketball coach Sue Northey, who decided two years ago to retire from coaching basketball, has once again come back into the ranks of high school coaching. Hermantown Boys And Girls Win Section 7AA Golf Titles
June 1 The Hermantown Hawks handled the field in both the boys and girls Section 7AA Golf Championship held at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. The boys won with a low combined score of 630, while the girls won with a combined low score of 721. Read more
Hermantown Wins Virginia Invite
May 23 The Hermantown Hawks golf team won the Virginia Invitational on Saturday at the Wilderness Golf Course in Tower, Minnesota. Hermantown bested eleven other schools, including two from Ontario, Canada. Read more
DC's Diamond Notes - Sometimes the Good Outshines the Bad
Apr 22 Over the past two weekends for you golf fans you have been treated to two of the best performances there are in golf. First Phil Mickelson winning the Masters with grace and elegance to become a three time Masters Champion, and on this past Sunday Brain Davis, who in a playoff with Jim Furyk called a two stroke penalty on himself which gave the tournament to Furyk. These two stories are far more positive than Tiger’s return to golf. Read more
Esko-Carlton Golf Team Opens The Season
Apr 17 The 2010 spring sports season has arrived for teams participating in golf this year. Last week, the Eskomos opened their season with an eighth place finish in a 14-team three-man scramble at Pine City. Esko-Carlton had two three-man teams competing in the scramble. Read more |
