Lexvold Outlasts Langenbrunner to Win Cloquet Invite

July 11 CLOQUET- Upon entering Sunday's final round of the 79th annual Cloquet Invitational Jamie Langenbrunner had high hopes of defending his title on his home course. May 22 The Esko-Carlton boys' and girls' golf teams completed a sweep in the Polar League by winning dual meets to capture both titles. The first of the two meets was held in Cloquet at the Cloquet Country Club and the second was held at Superior National golf course in Lutsen, Minnesota. Read more

Apr 21 The Moose Lake-Willow River golf teams are off to a good start this spring sports season. The boys golf team won their opening meet of the season and tied in their second meet of the year. Apr 2 Longtime Esko girl’s basketball coach Sue Northey, who decided two years ago to retire from coaching basketball, has once again come back into the ranks of high school coaching. Northey and Mary Langdon are going to be co-head coaches of the Esko/Carlton girls golf team this season. Read more
Cloquet Boys Golf Team Improving as Sections Approach

May 18 The Cloquet boys golf team finished up Lake Superior Conference play, placing fifth overall in the conference. However, in the last nine hole match in the conference the Lumberjacks came through, finishing second to the Hermantown Hawks. Read more
Cloquet Girls Golf Competes In Lake Superior Meet

May 10 The Cloquet girls' golf team competed in the Lake Superior meet and saw their team scores improve by nineteen strokes in the six-team meet. The Lumberjacks great improvement allowed them to take a firm hold on third place in the conference standing.

 .May 4 The Cloquet Lumberjack golf team had a good day on Monday with their best finish of the season. The Lumberjacks took second in their invitational meet at the Cloquet Country Club.

May 2 The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels golf team is in mid-season form as they are outside competing and playing well early in the season. Their golf season kicked off on April 20th at the Sandstone Golf Club.

May 23 The Hermantown Hawks golf team won the Virginia Invitational on Saturday at the Wilderness Golf Course in Tower, Minnesota. Hermantown bested eleven other schools, including two from Ontario, Canada. Read more

May 20 The 2010 Lake Superior Conference recently announced the members of the 2009-2010 boys and girls all conference teams. Hermantown dominated the selections in both the boys' and the girls' teams. The Hawks placed five out of the six first team members on both the boys' and girls' side. Read more

 .Apr 22 Over the past two weekends for you golf fans you have been treated to two of the best performances there are in golf. First Phil Mickelson winning the Masters with grace and elegance to become a three time Masters Champion, and on this past Sunday Brain Davis, who in a playoff with Jim Furyk called a two stroke penalty on himself which gave the tournament to Furyk. These two stories are far more positive than Tiger’s return to golf. Read more

Apr 17 The 2010 spring sports season has arrived for teams participating in golf this year. Last week, the Eskomos opened their season with an eighth place finish in a 14-team three-man scramble at Pine City. Esko-Carlton had two three-man teams competing in the scramble. Read more
Lumberjack Boys Golf Team Competes at Wilderness

May 13 The Cloquet boys golf team played well at the Wilderness on Lake Vermillion, one of the best golf courses in the state of Minnesota. Twenty-six teams, including two from Canada, participated in the annual tournament.
Lumberjack Boys Golf Team Shoots Well at Nemadji

May 9 The Cloquet boys golf team played very well in last week’s Lake Superior Meet at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior, Wisconsin. The Jacks would better their previous team total by twelve strokes, finishing fifth in second Lake Superior meet.
Area Golfers Find Tough Going At Northern Invite

May 4 The Cloquet Boys Golf team found some tough going this past weekend at the Northern Invitational meet, which was held at the Quarry Golf course in Biwabik, Minnesota. The meet was held on Friday and Saturday in some difficult conditions, with wind gusting 25-30 miles per hour at times. The wind affected the 200 golfers that represented twenty teams.

Apr 30 The Cloquet Lumberjack boys' golf team tied for sixth in the Lake Superior Conference meet at the Cloquet Country Club this week. The meet played was nine holes instead of the normal 18-hole event. Read more

Apr 25 The Cloquet boys golf team competed in the Grand Slam Invitational over the weekend in Grand Rapids. The Lumberjacks played against some of the best golf teams and individuals in the state.
