  The Hermantown Hawks picked up their first win of the season in boys tennis after dropping their first two matches. The Hawks lost to Superior and Grand Rapids. The Hawks then rebounded to down the Duluth Denfeld Hunters 4-3.

  The Cloquet Esko Carlton boy’s tennis team opened 2-0 to start this spring sport season. The Lumberjacks went 2-0 by defeating Duluth Central by a score of 6-1 at Duluth Central High School. The Lumberjacks got past Eveleth-Gilbert in their first match of the 2010 season on Tuesday.

  Hermantown pulled off a big upset in boys tennis on Thursday afternoon. The Hawks came into their Section 7A first-round match against Duluth Marshall as a definitive underdog, but the end result was Hermantown taking a 4-3 decision over the Hilltoppers.

  The Hermantown Hawks rebounded after a loss to Pine City last week to beat the Trojans in a Lake Superior Conference meet on Tuesday. The Hawks move to 2-1 in conference play with the win at Duluth Central. The Hawks topped the Trojans 6-1 on the afternoon.
