  CLOQUET - The 11th Annual Ashley Abrahamson Memorial softball tournament was held at Braun Park this past weekend with a record number of teams participating. In all, 23 teams participated in both U-12 and U-14 age divisions.

Cloquet's Braun Park will be the home of the Minnesota U-18 State Class C girl's fast pitch softball tournament the weekend of July 25-26. Teams from all over the state of Minnesota will be in Cloquet to participate in the event.

The Cloquet Silver Bullets U-18 girls softball team finished second in the U-18 Class B division of the Lake Superior Classic softball tournament over the weekend. The tournament, which was held in Duluth, was a qualifier for the ASA Northern Nationals coming up toward the end of July.

The Cloquet Silver Bullets opened their summer girls' softball season with a 7-1 victory over Outdoor Advantage on Monday night. Despite a roster of players that could play at the 14 and under age group, the Bullets proved they could compete at the U-18 level by taking the win.

Braun Park was host to the 10th annual Ashley Abrahamson Memorial softball tournament this Saturday and Sunday. The tournament honored the memory of Abrahamson, who died in a tragic car accident at the age of 13 on April 13, 2000.
