Apr 21 Cloquet senior Ben Shultz has signed a letter of intent to attend and play basketball for Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. Ben signed his letter of intent over this past weekend and will be playing for the Lancers next season. Read more
Local Players Shine in DAYBA Border Battle

Apr 11 The second annual DAYBA Border Battle took place Saturday night. It featured some of the best players from Minnesota and Wisconsin squaring off this year at Romano Gymnasium at UMD. The series was again won by Wisconsin in both the boys and girls game, but it was indeed a night where several players shined. Read more
Duluth Stars Win Kernz ANG All-Star Game At The Buzzer
Mar 29 DULUTH - Kolten Karppinen led the Iron Range All-Stars and all scorers with 20 points, including six 3-pointers in Tuesday nights Kernz Army National Guard all-star game at Duluth East. Darcell Williams drove the lane and hit a game winning shot at the buzzer to give the Duluth Area the 91-89 win. Read more

Mar 30 The 2010 Kernz & Kompany All-Star basketball games will take place Tuesday March 30 at Duluth East High School. The girls game is scheduled for 6:00pm and the boys game at 8:00pm. Both games will be preceded by a skills competition. Click Here for complete game rosters.

Mar 16 In what one fan stated “Wow, what a game” it was the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks overcoming a Lumberjack halftime lead to defend their section title for the third straight season and second consecutive victory in the section finals. The Thunderhawks beat Cloquet 62-56. Read more

Mar 13 The Braham Bombers boys basketball team copied the same feat their girls basketball team did on Thursday night--beat Esko in sectional play at UMD. The Bombers shot down the Eskomos by a final score of 80-63. Read more

Border Battle Basketball Rosters Announced
Mar 16 The Duluth Amateur Youth Basketball Association (DAYBA) announced today that they will be sponsoring the DAYBA Second Annual High School Seniors’ “Border Battle” All-Star basketball games. The contests will feature the best high school seniors from Northeastern Minnesota and North Central Wisconsin competing in head-to-head matchups on April 10, 2010 at the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Ralph Romano Gymnasium. Mar 18 HIBBING - The Hibbing Memorial Arena is a special place for the AlBrook Falcons when it comes to reaching section final games. For only the third time in the schools fifty year history, the Falcons will play for the Section 7 championship on Saturday in Hibbing after rallying from a 17-13 point half time deficit to defeat the heavily favored Chisholm Bluestreaks 43- 41 Thursday evening. Barnum Bombers Fall in Section Semi-Finals
Mar 16 Last season the Barnum Bombers fell to the Isle Huskies in the Section 5A Quarterfinals. Two years ago it was Barnum beating Isle in the Section 5A semi-finals so it was only fitting that these two teams battled to another close contest Tuesday night at East Central High School in Askov. It would be the Bombers losing to the Huskies for the second straight season as Isle hung on to beat Barnum 57-49. Read more

Mar 13 The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels' season came to an end Saturday night when the Tigers of Rush City beat them 55-52. This was the second time this season the Rebels have lost to the Tigers. Rush City overcame the Rebels by 11 the first game of the season in the beginning of December. Read more

Mar 11 The Cloquet boys basketball team advanced to the Section 7AAA finals for the second straight season when they shot down the Duluth Central Trojans in their last basketball game ever. Cloquet trailed twice in the game, but overcame their deficits to take the 75-48 victory. Read more

Sept 14 It is official! Cloquet star basketball player, Chad Calcaterra, has made a verbal commitment to play ball for Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado next season. Calcaterra, who has been courted by a number of Division I schools, made the decision on Sunday morning while visiting with Colorado State coach Tim Miles. Read more |
