As hard as it is to believe, the winter sports playoff season is rapidly approaching. Playoff pairings for 7AA girls hockey were released tonight with the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks getting the third overall seed. The Jacks will host Forest Lake on February 9 at 7:00pm.

Jacks Win "Pink the Rink" Event 3-1 Over Duluth
Jan 16, 2012 The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team clinched the Lake Superior Conference title on Monday night with a 3-1 win over the Duluth Northern Stars at Amsoil Arena in Duluth. The game was part of a doubleheader called “Pink the Rink” which was a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. Read more

MSHSL Modifies Hockey Penalties
Jan 14, 2012 The Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors has approved a recommendation to stiffen several penalties in hockey that become effective immediately. The goal is to continue the League’s efforts to reduce and remove dangerous contact that has led to severe injuries to players.

Beckman's 45 Saves Keeps Jacks Close In 6-4 Loss
Dec 3, 2011 Good goaltending can keep a team in a lot of games; great goaltending is better yet and can stem the tide until the offense can get on track. This is what the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team saw firsthand in Saturday’s road game against Benilde-St. Margaret’s. CEC Girls Shut Out By Lightning
Nov 29, 2011 Cloquet-Esko-Carlton had a great chance to send a message early in the girls hockey season last night when they hosted Grand Rapids/Greenway in Cloquet. Instead of delivering a message that they were a team to contend with, the message appeared to be more of the same; lots of shots, but the inability to get the puck into the net against the better teams, which in the end hurt the Jacks. Jan 28, 2012 CLOQUET - A four goal outburst in the second period helped the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team to a 4-0 win Friday night over Cambridge-Isanti at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet. CEC Girls Blast Eveleth-Gilbert With 59 Shot Effort
Jan 4, 2012 What a difference a year makes. Last year the Eveleth Gilbert girls hockey team stormed to their first state tournament in state history. This year the Golden Bears have stumbled and struggled with a young lineup. Meanwhile, year in and year out the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls team has been a constant force in northern Minnesota hockey circles. On Tuesday night the Jacks beat E-G 3-0, but if it were not for the stellar goaltending of Golden Bears goalie Vicky Fossland things could have been a whole lot worse for the Golden Bears. Read more

Dec 6, 2011 Cloquet-Esko-Carlton goalies Alyssa Acheson and Katie Beckman combined for 19-saves and the shut out over Hibbing/Chisholm in girls hockey on Tuesday night. Feb 18 Cloquet – Riding the momentum from their 5-2 win over Moose Lake Area on Tuesday, Eveleth-Gilbert defeated #1 seed Chisago Lakes Area by a score of 4-1 on Friday night in Cloquet.
