Cloquet-Esko Wrestling Gets First Victory Of The Season
Jan 20 Every team likes to think that they get better as the season progresses. The Cloquet-Esko wrestling team is no exception. Last Thursday, on January 13, the Lumberjacks headed to Rush City, a team they had lost to in late December, 40-36. Cloquet-Esko Wrestling Working Through Growing Pains
Jan 2 The Cloquet-Esko wrestling team has struggled getting out of the gate this year. After six matches they are still seeking their first team victory. According to Head Coach Al Denman, this is the way it will be all season. "We are a really young squad this year. We only return two letter winners and have fourteen beginning wrestlers. Not beginning in that they are new to the varsity program, but beginning in that they have never wrestled at any level." Read more |
Cloquet-Esko Seniors Compete In Final Home Match
Feb 1 CLOQUET - Three seniors wrestled their last home match for Cloquet -Esko on Tuesday night when the Lumberjacks hosted the Jaguars of Hinckley-Finlayson. Tahkoa Smith, Marcus Hunt and Jake Baker gave it their all before the home crowd and unfortunately, only team captain Baker came away victorious. Overall, the Jacks fell to the Jaguars 55-17. Cloquet-Esko Wrestlers Compete at Royalton
Jan 10 The Cloquet-Esko wrestling team has tangled with some dominating competition this past week and the results have not been pretty. They were beaten by Mille Lacs 66-9, which is a combined school from the neighboring towns of Onamia and Isle. Senior Jake Baker had the only victory, defeating his opponent 5-4. Sophomore Kristina Erickson received a forfeit to account for the other points. Mille Lacs won their section last year and qualified for the State tournament as a team in the Class A division.
